Located on Cook County’s northern edge, the Village of Northbrook possesses a small town feel in an expansive space. The area experienced a large population boom after the end of World War II, growing ten times its size by 1980. Today's residents know it to be a family orientated town with picturesque streets. Today, you'll find a varied assortment of residential real estate that caters to broad tastes. Classical brick colonials, renovated Cape Cods, and modernist two-story homes all share space on Northbrook's tree canopied streets.

What to Do

Dining is at no neglect in suburban Northbrook. Local favorite Francesco’s Hole In the Wall, a neighborhood favorite for 30 years, serves comfort-driven dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Another popular Italian eatery in the area is Trattoria Oliverii, which serves many Italian favorites as well as thin-crust pizzas. House 406 is a great American restaurant with a steakhouse feel serving fresh, farm-to-table dishes alongside cocktails and wine. For more American comfort food and neighborhood drinks, The Landmark Inn has been serving downtown Northbrook for generations.

Shopping is at your convenience here in Northbrook, whether it's the boutique shops lining its downtown Village Green or the many highend national brands you seek at Northbrook Court, there's really no creature comfort that can't be obtained with ease in this town. 

An annual right of summer, the town's "Northbrook Days" invites all residents to enjoy in the fun of a five-day celebration of the community, with countless rides, games, food, live music, and so much more.

Schools

District 225's Glenbrook North High School, or "GBN," is regularly acknowledged both within the state and nationally as a top-tier education designation with a nearly 97% graduation rate. Every school year, it welcomes its new students from junior highs within the districts of 27, 28, 30 & 31.

District 27 is where the village's K-8 learners prepare for high school within the northwest quadrant of town: ELEMENTARY: Hickory Point / MIDDLE: Shabonee / JH: Wood Oaks

District 28 is where the village's K-8 learners prepare for high school within the northeast quadrant of town: ELEMENTARY + MIDDLE: Greenbriar, Meadowbrook & Westmoor / JH: Northbrook
