Deerfield

Wonderfully located with direct accessibility to everything

Welcome to Deerfield

Along with its neighboring Village of Highland Park, Deerfield is at the southeastern corner of Lake County, with Cook County villages of Northbrook and Glencoe sitting right below them. While in different counties, these are all considered the north suburbs of Chicago and share many similarities. Desirable real estate inventory with a varietal mix of ranging from traditional colonials to modern architecture, well manicured tree-lined streets, a strong sense of community, and a well regarded school system are what makes the northern suburbs so very attractive to many, and the Village of Deerfield is just one more example of this. Deerfield is regularly lauded as one of the most coveted towns in the midwest. Conveniently located 25 miles from Chicago with two train stations, Deerfield is easily accessible to everywhere via I-94, I-294, Hwy 41, Hwy 43, Lake Cook Rd, and Deerfield Rd. It boasts a remodeled and convenient downtown area as well as fast access to the shopping districts of Northbrook. It's a well amenitized village, which its residents appreciate.

What to Love

  • Stable community throughout generations
  • Affluent and welcoming in a single package
  • Accessibility to adjacent towns and the city
  • Prominent corporate headquarters to many
  • Slightly lesser price point than its Cook County neighbors to the south and its lakeside neighbors to the east

What to Do

At the town's epicenter at Deerfield and Waukegan Roads, Deerfield Square was opened in 2000 to much communal support. Neither massive nor tiny in size, this upscale shopping center is perfectly scaled for the community of roughly 19,000 residents which it caters towards. A short distance to other suburbs, Deerfield Square leases out space to an abundant mix of high-end retailers and lifestyle brands alike, such as like Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Anne Taylor LOFT, Mia's Fine Jewelry, CorePowerYoga, Pure Barre, and Mario Tricoci Salon to list a few. Intermixed with casual dining for sitting down or grab-and-go, it's become the commercial heart of Deerfield the last two decades.

When needing a respite of outdoor recreation, Deerfield's 20 scenic parks and multiple trails provide the much needed greenspace its residents covet. With its park district also providing a recently remodeled community center, a swimming pool, wintertime ice rinks, and the Deerfield Golf Club & Learning Center, Deerfield accommodates a year-round thirst for recreation. And its annual Harvest Fest, which closes out the farmer's market season, is always a welcome town gathering that the entire family enjoys.

Lastly, when needing to scratch your history fix, Deerfield will impress with its Deerfield Historic Village that features 185-yr old Casper Ott Log Cabin which takes the visitors back in time to the long forgotten prairie life of the 19th century.

Schools

District 113's Deerfield High School is regularly acknowledged both within the state and nationally as a top-tier education designation with a nearly 98% graduation rate. Every school year, it welcomes its new students from junior highs within District 109.

District 109 is where the village's K-8 learners prepare for high school: K-5: Kipling, South Park, Wilmot & Walden / 6-8: Caruso & Shepard
